"(Barnett) isn't equipped with the elite burst, that energy that you'd like to have in an edge-rusher," Barnett said on the Move the Sticks podcast. "I was around Terrell Suggs a little bit with the Ravens, who's another guy who didn't do well. But man, he was fast enough when you got onto the field. I'm sure you'll see some of those same things with Barnett. I don't believe he's at that Suggs level but I think he's definitely got a chance to be a double digit sack player at the next level."
A positive point is his performances against SEC rivals. Barnett used to be known for being slow to start with Tennessee and the Volunteers, but he often kept his best performances to important conference matchups and the most effective offensive line that the Volunteers would face. While an Alabama team is a way from a Madden NFL 24 version yet, it's nonetheless encouraging.
