In Path of Exile 2, currency is everything. And out of all the currency types, Chaos Orbs are among the most essential—used for rerolling gear mods, trading, and even fueling your crafting goals. After a long weekend of grinding, I finally managed to farm over 1,000 Chaos Orbs, and I’m here to share exactly how I did it, in the simplest way possible.
Step 1: Focus on the Right Maps
I didn’t waste time running random maps. I picked Tier 10–14 maps with layouts that are easy to clear fast, like Burial Chambers, Cemetery, and Mesa. These maps have strong density and work well with strong loot modifiers. I always rolled them with Alchemy Orbs and used Vaal Orbs to corrupt them, chasing better loot and extra monster packs. Every single drop counts.
Step 2: Invest in Scarabs and Sextants
To make maps more profitable, I used Reliquary Scarabs, Ambush Scarabs, and Harbinger Scarabs. Harbingers drop raw PoE 2 currency, often including Chaos, Exalted, and Ancient Orbs. Sextants added extra packs like Rogue Exiles and Beyond demons, which greatly increased drop potential. Spending some Chaos to supercharge maps often gave 5–10x returns.
Step 3: Sell Essences and Unwanted Currency
Essences drop a lot, especially in high-density maps, and many players overlook them. I always picked them up and listed bulk sales using trade tools. Same with Fusing Orbs, Jeweller's Orbs, and even Regal Orbs. These sell surprisingly fast and add up quickly. Turning unused PoE 2 currency into more Chaos helped me hit my target much faster.
Step 4: Run Expedition and Delirium
Running Expedition encounters on maps gave me tons of artifacts, which I traded with Dannig for valuable currency. I targeted Logbooks when possible, but even in-map Expeditions dropped many Chaos-equivalent items. I also triggered Delirium Mirrors, focusing on fast-clearing with AoE-heavy builds. The Simulacrum splinters and cluster jewels I got from these runs were big money makers.
Step 5: Price Check and Trade Everything
Instead of hoarding loot, I sold items constantly. I used trade websites and price-check tools to quickly list valuable rare items. Selling even just a few good rings, amulets, or 6-links made a huge difference. I didn’t hesitate to buy PoE 2 currency when prices dipped either, especially if I needed specific orbs for crafting.
Step 6: Don't Be Afraid to Use a Shortcut
Farming can be fun, but it’s not for everyone. At one point, I hit a dry streak and needed more currency to finish a build. I tried U4GM and was honestly impressed—fast delivery and completely smooth trading. Sometimes it’s just more efficient to buy PoE 2 currency when you're short on time.
Farming 1,000 Chaos wasn’t easy, but with smart planning, map investment, and knowing what to pick up (and sell), it’s totally doable. Whether you’re farming or choosing to buy PoE 2 currency, always have a goal in mind. Track your earnings, stay consistent, and adapt your strategy. Chaos adds up faster than you think if you're farming the right way.
