Even the best embryo will not implant because the zonae pellucida are too thick or too rigid. That is where assisted hatching will come in handy. Assisted Hatching is an in vitro procedure wherein a small window within the zona is broken by a laser, chemical, or using a mechanical device prior to embryo transfer. It allows the embryo to "hatch" and get a snug fit into the uterine lining.
